A Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 787-10, with registration HZ-AR33 and operating as flight SV-109 from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to London Heathrow, United Kingdom, took off from Jeddah's runway 34R as scheduled.
The aircraft climbed to FL360 and later to FL380 uneventful. Approximately 6 hours and 20 minutes later, it successfully landed on Heathrow's runway 27R, completing the journey without apparent incident.
However, during the post-flight inspection, maintenance personnel discovered a significant hole in the leading edge of the left wing's slats, indicating a bird strike had occurred during the flight. Despite the seemingly uneventful nature of the journey.
