Up to 2,000 flights cancelled





KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA -- In line with the current saving measures done by airlines around the world, Malaysian Airline Group is the latest to join in asking all their 13000 strong employees to take unpaid leave.


This move comes as the Corona Virus takes it toll in Malaysia. MAS that it has given its staff the option to voluntarily take five days of unpaid leave per month for at least three months; or between one to three months beginning April. 

MAS CEO Captain Izham Ismail has also announced that
senior management will be subject to a 10% pay cut and bonuses cancelled until the smoke created by the Corona Virus settles. 

The airlines has suspended up to 2000 flights, mostly in Asia and during the beginning of the pandemic.
