KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT — The State of Kuwait has suspended all inbound and outbound flights to and from Kuwait International Airport from March 13, 2020 until further notice.
This is the country’s response to contain the Corona Virus. Also, the country has declared a two week public holiday. Residents however are not allowed to congregate in public spaces nor hold events during this period.
Kuwait Airways has significantly reduced their flights . It is uncertain and very fluid if the airline will suspend all scheduled flights. This is causing travellers all sorts of problems worldwide. The airline has released a statement copied below.
COVID-19 Updates
Dear passengers, in light of the current COVID-19 situation, we are required to regularly review our KAC Flight Schedules accordingly. To keep yourself fully up to date:
- Please kindly check the FLIGHT STATUS of your planned flight for the latest information, before making your way to the airport.
- Please ensure to update your 'Contact Details' using the MANAGE BOOKING online functionality; or via our local Call Center (171); any KAC Offices; or the Travel Agent you made your booking with.
Below are the LATEST flight schedule changes for your further information. However, flights may be affected on an ad hoc basis.

As per DGCA, Kuwait Airways has suspended all commercial flights to/from Kuwait effective from 11:59pm on 13th March 2020 until further notice.
Based on the decision of the Council of Ministers in the State of Kuwait regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus until the suspension of flights on 13th March 2020:
- Non Kuwaitis are prohibited from entering Kuwait through Kuwait International Airport.
- Commercial flights are limited to Kuwaiti Citizens and their first degree relatives, it also allows entry to domestic workers accompanying them.

Bangladesh, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Lebanon and Egypt
