
London -- From March 16-28 2020, British Airways is cancelling around 216 flights including flights to Europe and the USA as passenger numbers drop amid fears over the Coronavirus.
The BBC has reported that Willie Walsh of IAG which own BA, Aer Lingus, Iberia and Vueling has warned that their China flights has been temporarily suspended and that there has been a significant fall-off on demand for travel to Italy.
Airline shares have fallen sharply amid investors concerns about the potential economic effects of the Coronavirus.
BA has also said that they will contact affected passengers on cancelled flights to offer re-booking on to other carriers, refunds or other flights.
Cancelled flights include flights between Heathrow airport and destinations in:
Italy, France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland and
New York. British Airways have also cancelled flights that depart from London
Gatwick and London City Airport
