Korean in the red. All A380's grounded

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA -- Korean Air President, Woo Kee-hong said last Tuesday, March 9 2020 the airline could not predict how long the crisis would last in a memo sent to its employees.

"But if the situation continues for a longer period, we may reach the threshold where we cannot guarantee the company's survival," he said in the memo. Korean Air has been one of the most affected of the current COVID-19 scare.

South Korea has been severely affected by countries that have imposed a travel ban and restrictions. Korean Air has currently reduced more than 50% of its flights.

They have grounded their entire A380 fleet along with 90 aeroplanes.

Korean Airlines is expected to announce more measures in an effort to mitigate the losses caused by the current virus outbreak.
