Exeter, United Kingdom -- Flybe, a British airline based in Exeter, has gone into administration today, March 5, 2020. Multiple sources have confirmed the airline has ceased operations has sent advisories to its passengers via Twitter.
Flybe was aa time the largest was the largest independent regional airline in Europe. Flybe provided more than half of UK domestic flights outside London
Flybe ran into difficulties last year and was bought by a consortium that includes Virgin Atlantic. The airline has also been hoping a £100m lifeline from the UK government which was disputed by British Airways' owner IAG that led to a complaint being filed to the EU arguing Flybe's rescue breached state aid rules.
