EL AL operates only a handful of flights

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL -- Israel's national carrier, EL AL has announced major flight cancellations which sees only a handful of its flights to remain operating. 

EL AL will be utilising its B787 Dreamliner in an effort to minimise the financial losses the airline is incurring as a fallout from the current coronavirus pandemic. 

Flights to Toronto, New York, Paris, London and Johannesburg continue to operate. 

PASSENGER AIRCRAFT FOR FREIGHTER FLIGHTS

Yediot Aharonot has reported that there is a large demand for cargo flights due to decreased air travel around the world. The expanded cargo services are not expected to significantly help the company, although cargo services on average contribute about 8% to El Al's earnings. The airline will use the B787 instead of the B777 due to its fuel efficiency.
