Cebu Pacific sacks 150 cabin crew


Manila, Philippines -- The Philippine's largest airlines Cebu Pacific has been forced to lay off 150 cabin crew, CNN Philippines reports.

The report on March 16, 2020 mentions that notice letters were leaked to the press after they were handed to probationary staff. The airlines was forced to scale down operations amidst the pandemic. 

The separation package offered to  the new hired cabin crew includes two months worth of pay, two free round trip tickets, a return ticket to their home city and a waiver from training associated costs. The company also said that the displaced employees would be prioritised in when the company starts recruiting once again.

Cebu Pacific has previously announced pay- cuts from its top management in an effort to save cash.
